Need for Speed: Underground is the seventh sequel to the Need for Speed series, developed by EA Black Box and released by Electronic Arts in 2003. Two different games were created, one for console and Windows and the other for Game Boy Advance.
Underground has relaunched its franchise, ignoring the previous Need for Speed game featuring exotic sports vehicles. This is the first game in a series that offers race modes with plots and garages that allow players to fully customize their cars with high levels of performance and visual enhancement. All races are held at night in a public city called the Olympic City, although it is similar to New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles. From exotic cars, Underground has introduced vehicles related to import sites. Underground was a commercial success, followed by Need for Speed: Underground 2 in 2004.
Call of Duty is the first video game franchise released by Activision. From 2003, it focused for the first time on the games established in World War II. However, over time, the series has seen games set in modern times, in the midst of the Cold War, futuristic worlds and universe. The game was developed by Infinity Ward and later by Treyarch and the Sledgehammer Games. Some developers have made some games and games by hand. The latest title, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, is released on October 25, 2019.
The series initially focused on World War II settings, with Infinity Ward developing the first (2003) and second (2005) titles in the series, and Treyarch developing the third (2006). Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (2007) introduced a new, modern atmosphere, and turned out to be the innovative title of the series, creating a sub-series of Modern Warfare. The game’s legacy also influenced the creation of a remastered version, released in 2016. Two more entries were introduced, Modern Warfare 2 (2009) and 3 (2011). The Subseason received a software reboot with Modern Warfare 2019. Infinity Ward also developed two games outside of the Modern Warfare sub-series, Ghosts (2013) and Infinite Warfare (2016). Treyarch made one of the last games based on World War II, World at War (2008), before releasing Black Ops (2010) and then making sub-series Black Ops. Three more entries were made, Black Ops II (2012), III (2015) and 4 (2018). Sledgehammer Games, co-presenter of Modern Warfare 3, has also developed two titles, Advanced Warfare (2014) and World War II (2017).
As of February 2016, the series has sold over 250 million copies. Sales of all Call of Duty games topped $ 15 billion.
